Movies I am Most Excited For in 2021 - 2022 by Cooper Zettlemoyer
With movie theaters opening up and Covid slowing down, it's a good time to watch movies in the theater again. And luckily, in the next year there are a lot of movies coming out that I am excited about, so I thought I would share some of them.
1. Spider-Man : No Way Home (2021)
This is a film I have been excited for since the cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which was released in July of 2019. And when the first trailer came out a few weeks ago, I became even more excited, especially with the appearance of a specific character at the end of the trailer (which I will not spoil here).
2. The Batman (2022)
This is a film I have been excited for since the first trailer came out in 2020. I like how it looks like a dark and realistic approach to the Batman mythos. I also like how the Riddler is the main villain, a villain that I think is underrated. Also, it seems to be a murder mystery story and focuses more on the detective side of Batman which is largely ignored in Batman movies.
3. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
There isn't a lot of information on this movie online. But it has been stated that this film is directly connected to Spider-Man : No Way Home and that it will focus on the Multiverse. Also, it will be more of a horror film, which I think is an interesting idea for the MCU because it has been more family friendly up to this point. Also the movie is being directed by Sam Raimi who directed the Spider-Man trilogy which came out from 2002-2007. Those were movies I watched a lot when I was younger, so I am excited to see Sam Raimi direct another superhero movie.
4. Uncharted (2022)
This movie takes place in the same universe as the Uncharted video game franchise, which is one of my favorite video game franchises of all time. This film is a prequel to the video games. There isn't much information online about what the plot is about except that it involves treasure hunting, which makes sense because that's what the entire series is about.
5. Moribus (2022)
This movie is based on the Spider-Man villain named Moribus, and that's all I can say really. Honestly, the only reason I am excited for this is because The Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming appeared at the end of one of the trailers, which means that this film is somehow connected to the MCU. And also I really liked The Vulture so I am excited to see him.
6. The Flash (2022)
Honestly, I had not been excited for this movie for a long time; however a trailer recently came out for this film. Most of the stuff in the trailer doesn't look interesting, in my opinion, except at the end of the trailer, where Michael Keaton's Batman is shown. This Batman hasn't appeared in film since the 1990s and also isn’t part of the same universe as The Flash, which means that The Flash is going to be a multiverse movie and most likely based on the Flashpoint paradox storyline, which is a pretty good storyline from what I've heard. This is something that has been rumored for a long time, and I’m pretty sure was confirmed by Michael Keaton, but it's nice to see actual footage of it. So I think that if the movie is based on a good comic storyline, then the movie might have a chance of being good.
