The New York Jets picked up a win against the 6-1 Buffalo Bills and handed the Bills their second loss of the year. It’s the Jets 6th win of the year to make them 6-3 on the season. And maintain second place in the AFC East. The Jets have had problems at home entering this game. They were previously 1-3 at home and 4-0 away.
The Jets offense scored 20 points in their 20-17 win against the Bills. Jets quarterback Zach Wilson threw for 154 yards on the day and one touchdown pass. After a three interception game against the Patriots last week, Wilson didn’t toss a single interception against the Bills.
The Jets ran for more yards than they passed which is not very common. They ran for 174 yards and their top rusher was Michael Carters with 76 yards and an average of 6.3 yards per carry. Carters had a 6 yard touchdown run. The Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein was 2-2 with a 53-yard field goal to get the Jets first points of the game. He also made a 28-yard field goal to give the Jets a 20-17 lead with 1:45 left in the 4th quarter.
The Jets defense had a very good game with two interceptions. Jordan Whitehead and Sauce Gardener each had a pick and the defense had five sacks in the game. The Jets did a very good job at frustrating Josh Allen especially in the second half, only giving up 3 total points in the second half. And the second game in a row that the Bills have scored 3 points in the second half.
