On Monday at 7:30 ET January 9, 2023 the two best college football teams face off in Sofi Stadium Los Angeles. The defending champions are the 14-0 Georgia Bulldogs who are looking for a second college football championship victory in a row and an first undefeated season in over 40 years. On the other hand the 13-1 TCU is looking for their first title in over 80 years and their first title in the CFP era.

The 14-0 Bulldogs have had another great season and have the SEC Championship title under their belt this year. Their offense has been good this year and was great with their 42-41 victory over Ohio State in the Peach Bowl. Stentson Bennett is the Georgia quarterback making his second college football championship game of his career. Stetson Bennett is, 292-429 of passes this season and he has thrown for 3,546 yards and 23 touchdowns. Georgia's leading rusher is Kenny Macintosh who has run for 779 yards this season and 10 touchdowns. Georgia’s leading receiver is Brock Bowers who has six touchdown receptions and 790 receiving yards and 56 receptions.

Georgia’s defense is ranked fifth in college football in yards allowed per game; they have allowed 15.9 points per game this season and have mastered a total of 10 interceptions this season. Georgia’s leading sacker is Jamon Dumas-Johnson who has a total of four sacks this season.

TCU was 5-7 at the end of last year but they have come back this season and they are college football's Cinderella team this year and they hope to continue in the championship game. The TCU offense has been great this season with their quarterback Max Duggan who wasn’t even a starter at the beginning of this season. He has 3,546 passing yards this season and 461 rushing yards and 31 passing touchdowns and eighth touchdown runs. TCU’s leading receiver is Quentin Johnson who has 1,066 receiving yards and has 59 receptions and 6 touchdown catches. TCU’s leading rusher is Kendre Miller is questionable to play against Georgia but has been great this year 1,399 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns this season with an average of 6.2 yards per carry too.

The TCU defense has been good this season especially when it comes to turnovers they have 16 interceptions and seven forced fumbles and have recovered six recovered fumbles. This season they are ranked 20th in the country in total turnovers with 22 turnovers. Bud Clark is TCU’s leading interceptor; he has a total of five interceptions this season. TCU’s leading sacker is Dee Winter who has 7.5 sacks on the season and also has one interception.

My prediction on who will win the college football championship is the Georgia Bulldogs with a final score of 38-34 over the TCU Horned Frogs.
