Will the Phillies Do Well in the Playoffs This Year? By Cole Potoczny
This year the Phillies got off to a hot start until they went to London for a game against the Mets. After that game, they just didn’t look the same. Eventually, the Phillies got back on track, after winning a series 3-1 against the Braves.
The Phillies still don’t have Bryce Harper hitting to the best of his abilities, but I don’t think that will matter. They still have a better bullpen than last year, with Zach Wheeler having 213 strikeouts this year. They also have Trea Turner and Kyle Shwarber. Trea is on fire with a batting average of .294 and 132 hits. Kyle has hit 14 leadoff home runs this year.
The Phillies might not have the best record in baseball, but they are 5-1 against the Dodgers. The Phillies are also 7-6 against the New York Mets, and they won the National League East. The Phillies have been hot the last two postseasons, but this year I think they’ll win it all or at least make it to the World Series, because the team is on fire and the pitching is outstanding.
