Mountaineering Robot by Matthew Staniar

Going to climb a mountain this weekend? Maybe for fun?  For some people they have to do it for their job, so this is music to their ears.  Now imagine climbing with a robot companion.

James Capper has just developed a mountaineering robot that has hydraulic legs and can conquer even the hardest terrain. This robot is controlled by a remote control box that is connected to the bot with a thick wire. One of the big things with this robot is it will be able climb inclined terrain, and possibly climb up steep rocky mountains with ease.

Now all of this is potential. At the moment it is very slow and can only be operated from a large remote control that is connected to it by a wire so to operate a human must be close by, but if Mr.Caper can continue to modify it, it could be revolutionary. This bot is very cool and hopefully it will help people in the near future.
