A Child Lectures You On . . . Hollow Knight
Episode 1
Hello children, My name is Vin, and I welcome to my new series “A Child Lectures You On . . .” Today's edition is A Child Lectures You On Hollow Knight.
Disclaimer: Hollow Knight is an objective masterpiece of a video game and if you disagree with me, you are incorrect. Another disclaimer: Sam Rockmore forced me to do that. I literally have no clue why. Back to Hollow Knight. The game costs only $15, and it is available on the Switch, for a computer, on Xbox and Playstation, so you have little reason not to get it.
Now, let me explain why it is so good and why I have 400 Steam hours on this game. First, Hollow Knight has a former Pixar artist who created the art for the game, and the art is absolutely stunning. Along with the music, these make this game an atmospheric masterpiece. I have many times gotten lost wandering the Forgotten Crossroads under the town of Dirtmouth. It feels as if I myself am the one wandering these caves; every detail is meticulously plotted out, and everything makes the space feel calm, or in the case of Path of Pain, absolutely keyboard-destroying, controller-throwing infuriating. The bosses and playstyle of Hollow Knight is very good - you barely ever are stuck wondering what to do, and while you will get lost, you’ll never get bored.
The game has mountains of content, and that content just keeps growing. All of the bosses are perfect difficulty for their stage of the game, except NKG and Absolute Radiance, two optional bosses who are just over-the-top infuriating. Overall, get Hollow Knight, play it, and enjoy it. Lecture done.
