The Madden Mobile Pro Bowl promo has been out for around 10 hours now. But, for future readers, around 10:00 P.M on Monday, January 22nd (as far as I’m concerned), they dropped this promo. Now, I was on last night before I shut my eyes and I was looking at the packs in the store, the community challenge (live events), and sets. Now, here’s my review of the entire thing and I’ll rate it in three different factors: How money hungry EA is on a scale of 1-10 on this promo (with 1 being pretty much free while 10 is outrageously expensive), how easy the sets are to do on a scale of 1-10 (1 easiest with 10 hardest), and how worth it the live events are on a scale of 1-10 (with 1 being don’t waste your stamina while 10 means grind all day!). Also, there will be an overall rating and final thoughts. So, without further ado, let’s check it out!
Money Hungry Rating: 2.5/10
Now, this might be the lowest rating they’ll ever get. Because if you didn’t know, EA Sports puts out promos where you need to spend $200-$500 just to get the master for that promo. Pretty crazy, huh? Well, that’s what we seen happen with Ultimate Freeze and the Playoffs promo (Pro Bowl is in the playoffs, but is a different promo.) But, this is one that really isn’t a very pay to win type of promo. And a lot of that contributes to live events, which we’ll talk about later. But, if you were to buy a starter pack for the Playoffs or Ultimate Freeze promo, they would cost anywhere from $25-$40! But, the starter pack for Pro Bowl promo is only 19.99 (Plus tax) Which comes out to a total cost of $21.19. So, the starter for this promo is cheaper than other promo starter packs. Also, the normal packs, i.e. the Pro Bowl pack and Pro Bowl Power pack, don’t cost many coins or Madden Cash. They are around 200 Madden Cash for a Pro Bowl pack, and that’s one of the best prices for a promo pack all year. They really didn’t sell out on this one, and I know the community loves it. Thank you EA for not making me give away my life savings for a master.
Live Events: 8/10
The live events are fun to do. I love the aspect of having to complete a live event for each aspect of the game. Plus, you are awarded pro bowl trophies for completing them and have a chance to earn more every single time you play them. There is also the chance to earn 15,000 coins on top of all this for doing the Pick’Em challenges. So, it’s all kind of basic, so why is it an 8 and not a 5 or 6? Here’s why: the Community Challenge. This is probably the best thing I’ve ever seen, and is a great way to get players to grind those live events to help everyone else in the world out. Basically, in the minigames, the amount of points you earn will be added to the worldwide total amount. From there, you can earn rewards from earning the required points to get past a tier. I don’t know when we’ll get the rewards, but you can get three Pro Bowl packs, a Pro Bowl Power pack, and an elite Pro Bowl player from grinding for like five minutes before you go to sleep. It really is the best live event concept I’ve ever seen in the game.
Sets: 4/10
Bit of a low rating, but one that I feel fits. There are only two sets, and that harms this rating a bit, because most promos have 5-10 sets easily. But, this one only has one set where you can get a player! Most promos have around 3-5 sets where you can get players. Also, the other set is really not worth checking in every hour to get the tokens toward the pro bowl trophy. It would be better if the wheel of pro bowl set gave you 1-3 Pro Bowl trophies or something like that where it refreshes every 4 hours, this would probably be a 7. But it’s a 4, so….
Overall: 6.5/10
So, the rating might not show it but this is a pretty good promo. To be honest, this may be one of the highest ratings a promo gets for all of Madden Mobile 18. Everyone in the Madden Mobile community loves the Pro Bowl promo, especially tryhards who are willing to spend $200 on the game. This promo is also great because of all the coin packs and I love the community challenge promo. Also, I love the vibrant colors, so…
