Nature At Its Best by Emma Herzing
I start the walk through the path
Filled with living things
The twigs crack under my feet
The sticky brown mess
Holding on to my old sneakers
Beside me
I watch as the swift,
Glimmering water
Moving in the different direction
I hear the breeze hitting
On the big, living tall trees
I only watch where I’m going
So I don’t trip on the roots
That are peeking out from the ground
Waiting to get some fresh air
My thoughts are peaceful
Every move I make
The sun kisses the leaves
Making them glow bright
And it makes my skin feel warm
As I move forward
Through the thick rough of trees
This is a place of beauty
This is a place of peace
This is a place of shelter
This is nature
At its best
