Many, if not all of you, are familiar with credit cards. Many of your parents purchase coffee with this card. In the UK? That may soon come to an end.

Coffee chain Costa is releasing a new, reusable cup with an embedded NFC chip, the kind found in smartphones for transactions. The cup is known as the Costa Clever Cup. Talk about alliteration! The card can be loaded with money, and then if you’re out to buy coffee, leave your wallet at home! The cup also earns you their usual discount from bringing your own cup, so it’s a win-win. Less things to carry, and you save money! The coffee cup will reportedly also work anywhere that accepts contactless NFC chips. The cup was supposed to be available in late November.
