Guns N’ Roses in Hershey by Gabbi McVey

August 13, 2017 @7:00pm at Hershey Stadium, Guns N’ Roses comes for a concert a lot of people would love to go to!

The lead singer is Axl Rose, who became the lead singer in 1985. Slash has been the lead guitarist since 1985 (35 years)!  Rounding out the band are: Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitarist), Duff McKagan (bassist), Steven Adler (drummer), Dizzy Reed & Melissa Reese (keyboardists), Richard Fortus (guitarist), and Frank Ferrer (drummer).

The band has made six studio albums and altogether 100 million records worldwide, including 45 million in the US alone, making them one of the top bands of all time.  The most popular songs are: “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Welcome To The Jungle,” “Paradise City,” “November Rain”(includes full orchestra), and “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”.

We have seen this band go through tough times; for example: when the concert got rained on during the 1993 Skin N’ Bones tour, and everyone left. But they also have seen the great moments like when they hit the 100 million records sold mark. That’s a huge thing for a band to get, because it takes a lot of dedication, practice, bad and amazing moments to know what to go for and to not go for.

When a band like Guns N’ Roses comes on a tour like the Not In This Lifetime tour, people see a band that has grown from an amateur band to one of the top bands; it’s an amazing thing because you have the gift and opportunity of seeing them grow immensely. Back then people used lighters for a concert like this, but now people will use the flashlight on their phone.
