Spiderman is a well known superhero who has had many movie adaptations, and the first modern Spiderman movies were directed by Sam Raimi. Raimi is an American filmmaker responsible for the first ever live-action, theatrical Spiderman movies.
In the first Spiderman movie of the Raimi trilogy, we are introduced to Peter Parker (Tobey McGuire), a nerdy high school student who gets bullied by Flash Thompson (Joe Manganiello), a jock who has a crush on M.J (Kirsten Dunst), who Peter also has a crush on.
One day while on a field trip to Oscorp, his best friend’s Harry Osborn (James Franco) dad’s lab, Peter gets bitten by a radioactive spider. When Peter gets home that night, he notices weird things happening to him, like super-strength, enhanced sight and being sticky!. Peter then makes a suit and enters a professional wrestling contest to get money for his uncle Ben. Peter wins, but the director of the contest only gave Peter a little of what was promised. A robber enters the room, steals the money, but Peter does nothing to stop him. Later in the movie, that same robber shoots Peter’s Uncle Ben in a robbery, which leads Peter to feel guilty, which Peter tries to deal with by becoming a crimefighter.
Later, Peter finds out that his best friend Harry’s dad is evil and is the Green Goblin. Peter and the Green Goblin eventually fight at the movie’s climax.
In the second Spiderman movie, Peter is back and has been losing his powers because he couldn't balance his normal life with crime fighting. Peter tries to live a normal life and earns a scholarship from scientist Otto Octavius, then goes to work with him. Octavius makes cyber-enhanced limbs, like tentacles, that come from machinery attached to his back. When the limbs malfunction, the interface messes with his brain and he turns into the evil Doctor Octopus. The climax of the story has Doc Oc and Spiderman fight on a train.
In the last installment in the Spiderman trilogy, Spiderman 3, Peter gets pounced on by a symbiote and it changes his suit and his attitude. Peter goes on a dancing spree with his new found emotions, but finally gets tired of the symbiote and finds its weakness which is sonic sound. During all of this, Peter’s friend Harry has been in a coma and when he comes out of it, returns as the Green Goblin (just like his father before him). Super villain Sandman also makes an appearance in this film, with a surprise that connects to the first movie. Eventually, the symbiote finds its way to a photographer named Eddie Brock, which turns him into Venom. Spiderman fights all three of the villains at the end, finishing the trilogy.
