Review Of The New Fortnite Season by Aidan Murphy

November 15, 2023

Epic Games posted a video and leaks started appearing. And on November 3, 2023, Fortnite: OG released, to a widely positive reception. To overview what changed, let’s start with the new battle pass.

Last season was pretty bad, as the eight skins were so generic and average. But this season, they really upped their game. Although there are only four skins, and I would’ve preferred to have more, they are actually quite good.

For starters, Spectra Knight is the tier one skin, which is far better than last season's tier one skin, Nolan Chance. He was just boring and kinda lame. She has many style options, like helmets and armor which will be unlocked in later weeks, and you can customize her colors right off the bat.

The next skin is Lil Split, who is an ice cream version of Peely. He has a strawberry style and a green unlockable style too.

Next is Renegade Lynx, who is a hybrid between Lynx and Renegade Raider, one of the rarest skins in the game. She has a lava style.

And finally, there is Omegarok, who is a hybrid between Omega and Ragnarok. This is the best skin in the battle pass in my opinion. He has a style with a helmet or without, and you can customize his lights, just like the original Omega. He is the highest tier skin, but the battle pass is only 50 tiers this season, so it is not too hard to get everything.

Now let’s go to the map. It’s the Chapter 1 Season 5 Map, but it has some slight changes. Like the center building in Tilted Towers nicknamed the Trump Tower, being replaced with the No Sweat Insurance Building, and the house in Fatal Fields being replaced with another barn. This doesn’t really take away from the whole experience though.

The original weapons have been brought back, but not all of them. The graphics are almost just like the game was five years ago, and you might be wondering, “Why would you want old graphics?” Well, the old graphics fit the game better as they were more cartoony, but now they are more realistic. So they don’t really match the feel of the game and the engine that Fortnite used for the graphics was deleted, so they had to try their hardest to recreate them and I think they did a good job.

Even though we are only a week into this season, so far I give it an 8.9/10.

You should try it.
