That's Snow Cool! by Nicole McFadden-Derer

Across the east coast there have been many recent snow storms. Many kids have been enjoying the days off and playing in the large amounts of snow; there seems like there is always more coming, and some always on the ground.

There have been lots of two-hour delays and snow days. Most spend their days inside video gaming and drinking hot chocolate, but many, especially younger children, go outside and pretend to be Elsa from Frozen. Overall, everyone has had lots of fun with all the days off.

Final snowfall amounts from the storm from Feb. 7-9, 2015 include:

  • 17.8 inches in Princetown, New York

  • 31 inches in Rockland, Massachusetts

  • 18 inches in Newburyport, Maine

  • 16.1 inches in North Foster, Rhode Island

Thats a whole lot of snow!

Along with the ridiculous amounts of snow, there have been many unique Winter Storm Names. These names include Pandora, Thor, Wolf, Hecktor, and Gorgon.

Many have been very excited for spring. Liz O. says “I’m really looking forward to the spring girls Field Hockey season”, while Rachel W. wants to get out and shop. Lots are just looking forward to warm weather and no snow!

It has been a snow-filled winter already, and there’s more to come!
