Have you ever been bullied? If so, keep reading. In this article we will be explaining the four main types of bullying. Also, some statistics and outcomes.
First type of bullying is Physical. This includes hitting, punching and kicking. Basically any physical contact to another person. Causing an injury, or corrupting their property. You wouldn’t want someone or multiple people doing it to you, so don’t do it to other people. It’s ignorant and disrespectful.
The second type of bullying is Cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is when you post something bad about someone, act like you’re someone else and not who you really are. People are Cyber bullying all the time. It’s more common to be cyber bullied by texting, and on social media (Facebook, Instagram, snapchat, etc..) Also, posting pictures of people and sending hateful messages to or about someone.
The third type of bullying is Verbal. It’s telling someone something that can hurt their feelings. For example, if someone walks up to you and says something mean to you. Whether it’s about your clothes, what you look like, or who you hang out with. That’s still bullying and you should report it so there’s a change it’ll stop.
The fourth type of bullying is “Hidden”. Hidden bullying is when someone says something mean about you to other people. They’re spreading rumours about you, giving you negative facial or physical gestures. Those types of people will make nasty jokes about you, they’ll want to embarrass you, or humiliate you. People will start to say stuff about someone that isn’t true and it will damage their social reputation, or social acceptance. Also, people will tell others not to include someone because of how they are or because that person doesn’t like the person that wants to be included.
In schools ¼ of teachers don’t see the bullying happening, so they don’t do anything about it. There are about 3.2 million victims of bullying each year. 1 in 4 students actually report being bullied. 160,000 teens stay home from school so they can avoid being bullied or beaten up, while 1 in 10 students drop out of school because of being bullied. Over 67% of students think teachers in schools are responding poorly to bullying.
Another thing bullying can cause is depression and suicidal thoughts. Over 15% of students that report getting bullied seriously consider suicide. 11% of those people stimulate a plan of their death. Over 2.5 Million students are willing to commit suicide because they’re getting bullied everyday and cannot keep going through the same situation everyday. We really think you should think about what this article is saying and take it seriously that bullying is not a joke, and you can be the reason why someone commit suicide. Take action and stand up for someone that you see getting bullied.
