With the recent PFMS health fair, there were a couple of raffles. I managed to win one of them, and one of the many things the gift bag contained was a plastic bag full of fish eggs (Yes, they’re really fish eggs!). Although I was actually joking about them being fish eggs, it is really satisfying to watch.
“What are these satisfying fish egg-looking things?”, you may ask. Well, they are actually tiny gel balls. They are used for physical therapy. For cold therapy, they must be placed in the freezer for at least 2 hours. For heat therapy, they must be placed in boiling hot water for 5 minutes, or put in the microwave to 20 to 30 seconds.
It seems like they could also be used for mental therapy, because they’re really satisfying. They’re more satisfying in person than in a video. The gel balls are also really hard to pop (thankfully) because they slide away if you press down, which also happens to satisfy you. The only way to pop the balls is if you lead one into a corner and pop it, because it can’t slide away.
We tried many different ways of making the video satisfying, including the following:
Flipping the bag
Pressing down with one finger
Headbutting it
Pressing down with a hand
Pressing down with multiple fingers
...And many others.
In conclusion, these gel packs have an actual use as well as being very satisfying. If you are a person who gets injured a lot for some reason and likes to watch tons of giant fish eggs moving around in a plastic bag, then I recommend getting one of these (not that I know where you could buy one).
