What’s the hype about

High School, it’s not like your job

Depends on passing

Or like there’ll be 

Cool opportunities and 

A nice, fresh new start

It’s not like grades help

You get into your dream school

Or like you’ll make friends

It’s not like there’s staff

Who you can make bonds with, and

Throughout the years, you

Won’t like their company.

There aren’t cool clubs to join

Or a HUGE building

To explore, learn in.

Of course, this isn't the start

Of finding things out

About yourself you

Love, accept, and cherish that 

Boost your confidence.

Leadership skills? Nah.

Independence? No.

Stress, sadness, joy, hope.

High School is so strange. 

But that doesn’t mean it’s bad.

It’s truly a fresh start.

So, if you’re nervous

And believe what I had said,

Worry no longer.

Your fears will happen,

But your dreams will too. High School

Is a journey, and

It’s exciting.

You’re ready to move past this:

The future awaits.
