With rubber soles squeaking, and basketballs pounding against the hardwood gym floor, we all know what time of year it is: basketball season.
Girls basketball tryouts are approaching us. On November 17, the tryouts will begin. The tryouts will occur all week long from 3:30 to 5:20 PM in the Gym.
This season, the girls are getting a new assistant coach! Welcome to the team Mrs. Brennan! Personally, I am very excited for Mrs. Brennan to be joining the coaching staff, because she seems extremely nice.
Last season, both A and B teams beat Bellefonte, and the A team beat Penns Valley twice. Most girls are hoping for more wins this season, as I am, too. But, the team’s main focus is to improve skills, and winning is just an extra part. The one the main focus’ of the coaches is “academics come first.” Remember student comes before athlete in student-athlete.
I am really excited for basketball season. Come join the girls, Ms. Mozdzen and Mrs. Brennan for tryouts. I hope you come to tryouts this year. Girls, let’s break out our sneakers and elites and play some basketball!
