Pittsburgh Penguin Player to Return to Ice on Saturday by Ben Williams

After being hit hard, Pittsburgh Penguin center and co-captain, Evgeni Malkin was out for nine games due to a lower body injury. He plans to come back and play in the Winnipeg Jets game Saturday.

"That's the plan, you know. I'm trying," he said after the morning skate in practice today.

He will not be playing in the game against Boston Wednesday night (February 24th). The Pens actually are not doing too bad without him. They´ve won five of the nine games he was absent from, and tied one. Rookies Scott Wilson and Tom Kuhnhackl each had at least two goals.

"I mean you need that to win," Penguins captain Sidney Crosby said. The rookies have really been helping with the offense lately, and that may just be enough to propel them to the playoffs.
