This MLB season was another great season. There were a lot of good games, but it’s that time of the year when only some teams will get to continue their season. I’m going to predict who I think will be the division champions and the wild card teams.
AL East: Boston Red Sox A young team with a lot of talent is a great candidate for the AL East. Led by Mookie Betts who leads the team in hits, runs scored, and games played. This will be David Ortiz’s last playoff run so hopefully they go far.
AL Central: Detroit Tigers Despite being behind the Cleveland Indians by six games. I think the Indians will choke and give that lead up, just like all Cleveland sports. Led by Miguel Cabrera the Tigers will sweep the Indians in this upcoming series and win the division.
AL West: Texas Rangers After a disappointing 2015 season, the Rangers had a surprise season winning 87 games and looking for 100. They have a decently big lead (10 games) so I think the Rangers will represent the AL West.
NL East: New York Mets The prediction for this division right now would be the Nationals. But star pitcher Stephen Strasburg just suffered a season ending injury, so with Max Scherzer being the only ace in the rotation the Mets will have a better chance winning.
NL Central: Chicago Cubs The Cubs are a very talented team. Half of the starting lineup in the MLB All-Star game were Cubs players. They have a 16 game lead so they will make the playoffs.
NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers The Dodgers recently got their ace pitcher Clayton Kershaw back from the DL so he will help the Dodgers in their playoff run.
AL Wild Card: Baltimore Orioles and Cleveland Indians Both teams have the talent to win enough games to make the wild card game.
NL Wild Card: St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants Both teams also have enough talent to make the wild card game.
