Super Bowl 53 Predictions by Owen Coughlin

As many of you know, the 53rd Super Bowl is taking place on February 3, 2019. The teams competing to be Super Bowl champions this year are the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams. Both teams have done very well this season, with the Rams having a  slightly better record compared to the Patriots. Putting this data aside, both teams are practically an even match for each other, so we think this is going to be a Super Bowl to remember.

Rams Record: 13-3, Patriots Record: 11-5

Things That Could Change The Game!

  • Jared Goff has a 64.9 completion percentage with 4688 yards with 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

  • Tom Brady has a 65.8 completion percentage with 4355 yards with 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

  • Both WR cores are lit up, but I think the Rams receivers have the upper hand.

  • Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Tyler Higbee can beat the Patriots CBs with speed, athleticism, and catching ability.

  • On the other spectrum, Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, and Rob Gronkowski can beat the Rams CBs with catching ability, athleticism, and route running and potentially speed.

  • Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson have the upper hand over Sony Michel, Rex Burkhead, and James White, because Todd Gurley was named the best running back in the league, while Sony Michel is a rookie, so the Rams (with Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh) might have a better defensive game than Kyle Van Noy and Malcolm Brown.
