Canton Bound: Ben Roethlisberger by Noah and Max Radio

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been an NFL star for 16 years. His career was very successful, with two Super Bowl wins, 6 Pro Bowl selections, and two-time NFL leader in passing yards (2014, 2018). He has created great relationships with his teammates as well as coaches. He and wide receiver Antonio Brown had an especially close relationship and it showed on the field. Ben has been known as a sure Hall of Famer.

To begin his career, Roethlisberger went to Miami of Ohio University. In his freshman year, he threw for 3,105 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. Throughout his career he improved greatly; in his last year he had 4,486 yards, 37 touchdowns, and only 10 interceptions. From there he was drafted by the Steelers 11th overall in the 2004 NFL Draft. In his first year, he came in as a backup for Tommy Maddox in week 2. Maddox was down for the rest of the season and, as a result, Roethlisberger had the starting job. He led the team to a 15-1 season but lost in the AFC championship to the Patriots, 41-27. Ben continued to shine in the NFL and is currently still playing for the Steelers. They have an 11-3 record and have clinched a playoff spot in 2020-21. He shows no signs of slowing down as he continues to solidify his spot as an elite quarterback.
