Week eight of the NFL Season brought the Pittsburgh Steelers a loss and a couple of injuries.
The Steelers lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-10 at Acrisure Stadium on October 29, 2023.
But they lost a couple key players during the game that did not return. The Steelers have a shortened week playing in the prime time Thursday night football game against the Tennessee Titans at home on November 2nd. Let's get right into the report.
First, the big one. Kenny Pickett came out of the game with a rib injury at the end of the first half on a very questionable no-call roughing the passer. Pickett was ruled out of the game at halftime and his status is still up in the air for the game on Thursday night. He is a game-time decision for the game. Mike Tomlin did not disclose any information at the post-game interview.
Another big one, Minkah Fitzpatrick, three time All-Pro safety left the game early in the first quarter with a hamstring injury. He walked off on his own power and went into the blue tent, but then eventually was led to the locker room late in the first quarter being ruled out in the game.
He is having an MRI on October 30, 2023.
To end on a good note, All-Pro Defensive Tackle Cameron Heyward was activated off of Injured Reserve and has a chance to play in the Thursday Night game. Heyward suffered a groin injury Week 1 against San Francisco.
Hopefully, the Steelers can get their star players back in time for the game on November 2nd.
