As 2018 starts coming to an end, the new set of trends that started this year start to die down, but what were those trends? Here are the top 5 trends of 2018.
#5 - Crocs
After the Crocs trend ended in 2007, people who still wore their beloved Crocs were shamed for doing so. But today is the day for all the Croc fans out there. As of 2018, Crocs have become one of the most popular shoes of the year. Have you put your Crocs in the back of the closet? It’s time to get them out and show them off once more!
#4 - Target
Parents, remember the days when hanging out at the mall after school was all the rage? Teens nowadays don’t really use the mall to hang out, can you believe it? A lot of young adults and teenagers actually shop at single stores these days. One of the most popular stores the teens and young adults like to hang out and shop in is Target. Not only can you buy some trendy room decor, a lot of Targets also have a Starbucks.
#3 - Spotify
Out of all the music playing apps, Spotify is the most popular by far. While they all do the same thing (playing music), studies have shown that most people download Spotify. Maybe Spotify is an easier app to use and easier to just put on you music and go.
#2 - Netflix
Netflix has always been a popular app to watch your favorite shows, but as of 2018 it is known that a lot more people use Netflix then in previous years. This is mainly because of the popular shows that Netflix has. For example, Stranger Things recently became a fan favorite on Netflix. Fans of the show have been counting down the days for Stranger Things to start again, which it will in the summer of 2019. But unfortunately they’re just going to have to wait just a bit longer.
#1 - Starbucks
I’m not quite sure why, but the coffee from Starbucks is apparently the best in the world. If you come walking into work or school holding a Starbucks, you’re going to look way more confident to other people. Starbucks has always been popular for their food, but why their coffee? As of 2018, Starbucks has beaten Dunkin’ Donuts as the most popular coffee.
Some of these trends have stayed popular all the way into 2019, and some have died. I am personally excited to see some of these trends come crashing to an end, and seeing some of them get reborn.
