Google has gotten into the Avengers: Endgame spirit and has created a new Easter egg in honor of Thanos. An Easter egg, in case you don’t know, is a hidden item in a game, website, or in this case, search engine. Some other Google Easter eggs include “Zorg Rush,” and “Atari Breakout.” But this one really takes the cake. If you have seen Avengers: Infinity War, you’ll know that the Infinity Gauntlet, with all of the Infinity Stones, has practically unlimited power. SPOILER: Thanos uses the Gauntlet to make half of the world’s population fade away to dust, in an attempt to restore balance to the galaxy by reducing the population. With the population reduced, there are more resources left on the planet for fewer people. Google does that but to its search results.
To use this incredible Easter egg, open a new tab or go to google.com. Then, click on the search bar and type, “Thanos.” (It also works to type all lowercase, or even all caps if you really want to.) Direct your gaze to the right of the page. To the left of the word “Thanos,” under the pictures, will be an Infinity Gauntlet. Click this all-powerful weapon and the Infinity Stones will glow, and the fingers will snap. The page will begin automatically scrolling, and the first random search result it takes you to will melt away like the ashes from a fire. This Easter egg will slaughter half of your search results, restoring balance. Don’t worry- another click of the Gauntlet will activate the Time Stone and restore your search results.
After Thanos has finished murdering your friends, family, and search results, look at the number of search items returned. The number should drop from 101,000,000 to only 50,500,000. Exactly half.
