To start off, I am not saying that you don’t already have a strong bond with your pet. And I am also not saying that this will 100% work; every animal is different and unique. Now what I am saying is that maybe you could try these things and see if it works. If it doesn't, do your own research. Hope this helps!
Time
Time is a big thing in the animal world. The more time you spend with your animal, whether it is a cat or dog or guinea pig, the more the animal will start seeing you as family and start respecting you
Fun
Fun is important to us all. If you just work and work and work, you aren't really having fun, even if you enjoy that work. You need to take time off work and just have fun. Like snuggling with your animal, or taking them outside and for a walk. Just knowing that you gave time for them is so much and can make a big difference on the animal.
Patience
“Patience is key '' is a really good saying, because it tells you that being patient is important, and it is. If you push an animal to do something that it doesn't want to do, it will slowly start to get angry at you, or just angry in general. Sometimes if the animal has an anxiety problem and you are trying to get them to stop doing something by force, the animal will become scared and depressed. So take time and don’t expect things to come easily.
Feeding
If animals know you are the one to bring the food, they will start getting excited when they see you and that can help strengthen your bond. Hand feeding can also help. It shows the animal that it is safe to eat around you, and that they don’t have to be defensive of their food.
