My Most Anticipated Video Games Of 2022-2023 and Why They Will Be Great! By Rasik Cruden

September 30, 2021

1. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (PS5) Coming Out in 2023

This just had to be on my list. I already wrote an article about this game but the first Marvel’s Spider-Man was just about a perfect game and one of my favorite games of all time, so I am very excited about this one. There will be new villains, gameplay, boss fights, and more, so I am really excited to see how this game turns out.

2. Gotham Knights Coming Out in 2022

I am excited for this game for many reasons. One big reason is that you will get to play as four of Batman's allies: Nightwing, Red Hood, Robin, and Batgirl. Personally, I am going to play as Nightwing. There is also going to be a co-op online which I am excited for. Also, it is an original timeline (not in the Arkham universe) where after Batman dies, Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin carry on the torch and I'm excited to play as them.

3. God Of War: Ragnarok Coming Out in 2022

Again, the original God Of War was already an almost perfect game, and this sequel looks promising after going through Greek Mythology. In this game, we are exploring more through the Norse Mythology and going on quests. Kratos is a very well put-together main character with a tragic and great backstory. This game also shows more character development in characters like Kratos’s son Atreaus, and we will get to hunt down evil Norse gods, and even fight Thor! This looks like a very good game, but I am just excited I will finally fight Thor as Kratos. That should be fun!

4. WWE 2K22 Coming Out in 2022

This game excites me and worries me. Here’s why: the last WWE game was an absolute disaster. Everybody hated it. So the game’s developers skipped the WWE game last year to work on this one, and I think that is smart. I am a big WWE fan and I buy every game, so seeing all the new stars, potential new modes, and updated roster and belts, excites me. I hope this game doesn’t let me down like last game but I have hope it will be good.

5. Guardians Of The Galaxy Coming Out in 2021

This game is interesting because you can play as only one character, but the developers of the game Square Enix, who also made the Avengers game that I love, also created Guardians of the Galaxy.  I loved the team gameplay and overall gameplay of Avengers, so I’m really looking forward to seeing this in this new game. IGN also released a hands-on video where they played the game and the gameplay looked pretty good. You can make team commands which is cool and the hand to hand combat looks fun to play.

6. Suicide Squad K!ll The Justice League Coming Out in 2022

I am very excited for this game. Again the gameplay looks very cool and fun to play. The        story in this game is that Superman turns evil and the Suicide Squad has to take him out. Another thing I'm excited for is that it takes place in the Arkham games universe, and I am excited to see how this game connects to the Arkham universe and how it expands it. I am also excited for the online and playing as my favorite Suicide Squad characters.

7. Wolverine (PS5) Coming Out in N/A

I have wanted a Wolverine game for a while now. The thing is there hasn’t been any gameplay or confirmed release date - there has only been a trailer. But the trailer was pretty cool. This game is being developed by Insomniac Games which made the Marvel’s Spider-Man game, which was an absolutely phenomenal game. If they take factors from the Spider-Man game they made and incorporated some into this new game, I think this game could have some major potential.

8. Marvel’s Midnight Suns Coming Out in 2022

This game will explore the darker side of Marvel and I am down for that. The roster for this game includes Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Blade, Ghost Rider, Magik, and Nico Minoru. I do not know some of these characters, but I am excited to find out who they are and what their powers are. Another thing I like is that you can create your own superhero with all types of different things like attacks, clothing, and more.  One thing I might not like is the gameplay. The gameplay might be a card-based tactical RPG which means you will have to put down cards to do attacks. I am probably going to give this game a try and see if this gameplay style grows on me.
