Mrs. Kissell Spotlight by Rebecca Kreiner

 

I interviewed an Academic Literacy teacher here at PFMS. I asked her some things about her and her teaching, we had some help from the students too.

Park Forest Times (PF): How long have you been teaching at PFMS

Mrs. Kissell: “What year is it? 5 or 6 years. Wait hold on let me think…… 5 years.”

 

2. (PF): What made you want to be a teacher?

Mrs. Kissell: “Kids.”

 

3. (PF): What do you like most about teaching?

Mrs. Kissell: “Kids…. And what I get to teach.”

 

 

4. (PF): How would you describe a good student?

Mrs. Kissell: “A student who is organised, focused, committed, gets work done, good attitude, flexible and has a good sense of humor.”

 

5. (PF): Where are you from?

Mrs. Kissell: Ashland, PA

 

 

6. (PF): What is your favorite food?

 

 

Mrs. Kissell: “Pasta and anything garlic…… and candy.”

 

 

7. (PF): What places do you like to vacation to?

 

 

Mrs. Kissell: “New York City, any city, the beach and my parents couch.”

 

 

8. (PF): What kind of music do you like to listen to?

 

 

Mrs. Kissell: “Adele, Coldplay, classic songs. Pretty much anything.

 

 

9. (PF): What is your favorite sport?

 

 

Mrs. Kissell: “Shopping.”

 

 

10. (PF): How would describe yourself in 3 words?

 

 

Mrs. Kissell: “Conrad, how would you describe me in 3 words?”

 

 

Conrad Moore: “Um…. crazy….. energetic….. and thoughtful.”

 

 

11. (PF): What are some other things about you?

 

 

Mrs. Kissell: “I play piano. What are some interesting things about me?” she asks the quiet study group.

 

 

Kyle Martin: “You are definitely spunky, um creative, smart and have a good work ethic.”
