PFMS Cheerleading by Emma Limegrover and Keegan Walker

Are you energetic, dedicated, and persistent? Then you are perfect for the PFMS cheerleading team. Usually when people think of cheerleading they either think that you have to be extremely flexible, athletic, or incredibly peppy, when in reality you don't need any of these things to be a good cheerleader. The only thing you need is interest and dedication.

The cheerleading team attends PFMS home football games and cheers for the players. We also cheer for basketball, soccer, and sometimes volleyball. The team is open for 7th and 8th graders that attend park forest and no experience is required!

Sometimes we practice with the State High cheerleaders and the Mount Nittany team. It's so much fun to compare cheers and learn new things from the other teams. This year we are planning to attend a competition at State High School. We create a routine complete with cheers, stunting, tumbling, a dance, and an awesome song to tie the whole thing together. The competitions are a great, stress free way to show all your hard work and perform your routine for an audience. Stepping onto the performance mat for the first time is an indescribable feeling.

There are many different spots to fill on the team. You could be a base who uses their strength to hold the girls up and make sure they don't fall. You could be a backspot like Keegan and Allison who supports and keeps the balance of the girl in the air, and last but not least the flyer, which is the girl in the air. Please consider joining next year's team and becoming part of the the PFMS cheerleading family.
