Sometimes, the NFL is super predictable, like the Browns losing to the Patriots. But, other times, things can be a HUGE surprise. Kind of like some teams making it to the playoffs (imagine the Browns in the playoffs!). Here, we look at how the playoffs are shaping up, and how I feel the final rankings will end up. I will put up the current playoff race for each conference. After you guys get a good look at that, I’m going to put up my own Playoff Rankings and see which teams will stay in the playoffs and which will fall out. This will be as constant as possible, hopefully every week right before the Sunday games. Let’s start off hot, with the NFL Week 14 Playoff predictions for the AFC.
Current Playoff Picture: AFC 1st Seed: Pittsburgh Steelers (10-2) 2nd Seed: New England Patriots (10-2) 3rd Seed: Tennessee Titans (8-4) 4th Seed: Kansas City Chiefs (6-6) 5th Seed: Jacksonville Jaguars 6th Seed: Baltimore Ravens
Who’s Still Alive: 7th Seed: Los Angeles (6-6) 8th Seed: Buffalo Bills (6-6) 9th Seed: Oakland Raiders (6-6)
Playoff Final Standings Prediction: AFC 1st Seed: Steelers (14-2) 2nd Seed: New England Patriots (13-3) 3rd Seed: Jacksonville Jaguars (11-5) 4th Seed: Oakland Raiders (9-7) 5th Seed: Tennessee Titans (11-5) 6th seed: Baltimore Ravens (10-6)
Why:
1st seed: Pittsburgh Steelers don’t really have much competition ahead, unless you count the rivalry games and the New England Patriots. But here’s the kicker: 3 of their last 4 games (including Patriots game and Rivalry games) are at home! I guess you could throw up a coin between the Pats and Steelers game, but I’m going with Pittsburgh that game, and the rest of their opponents aren’t even that good. Easy pick, in my opinion.
2nd seed: The New England Patriots are in a Steelers-like situation. They will win every game for the rest of the season, except for the one game they’re away from home against the Steelers. The other games are against division rivals and the Patriots tear up their rivals every year, so easy pick.
3rd Seed: The Jacksonville Jaguars defense is great. But they don’t got much else going for them. Blake Bortles is nothing special, but the opponents coming up are opponents they should beat within 3 quarters, besides the Titans in week 17, of course. That could be a tossup game, but I’m going with the Jags to win. Kind of like the Pittsburgh Steelers…
4th Seed: The AFC West is a wreck right now. The Chiefs have lost 6 of their last 7 games, which I knew would happen. From the start of the season, even before then, when I wrote about why every team won’t win or make the Super Bowl, I said that the Chiefs are WAY TOO STREAKY! So, the Oakland Raiders beat them out and slip inat the 6th seed, while KC is out of the playoffs.
