The Showdown in the Dog Pound  by Andrew Zajac

November 30, 2022

On Sunday, November 27, 2022, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers paid a visit to the Dog Pound as they took on the Browns in Cleveland.

The Buccaneers came to play this Sunday, where they forced overtime but lost in dramatic fashion to the Browns with a score of 23-17. The game was close through every quarter, but in overtime, Nick Chubb plowed through the Buccaneers defense to score the game-winning touchdown with just 19 seconds left.

Jacoby Brisset and Tom Brady had similar stats in this game, with Jacoby Brisset going 23-37 for 210 total yards and 1 touchdown. Tom Brady went 29-43 for 246 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nick Chubb absolutely went off with 26 carries for 116 yards and 1 touchdown to win the game in overtime.

On the other side, Chris Godwin had himself a game with 12 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, Mike Edwards had two tackles, 4 assists and one interception. Devin White also had a great game with eight tackles, five assists and half of a sack. For the Browns, Myles Garrett had only one tackle and two assists, but he sacked Tom Brady 1.5 times. Jordan Elliott also helped with two tackles, one assist, and a sack as well.

This game also had a lot of show-stopping plays and clutch defense as well. Within the first five minutes, the Browns already marched down the field and scored, with Donavan Peoples-Jones grabbing two catches and Anthony Schwartz chugging down the field for a 31 yard touchdown run. Brady and the Bucs responded with Rachaad White bursting through the offensive line for a big run. He also  picked up a key third down and one to keep the drive going. Chris Godwin capped it off with a 10 yard touchdown grab. Late in the first quarter Cade York nailed a 51 yard field goal to put the Browns in front. Cade York attempted another field goal late in the second quarter but pulled it wide left. Just before halftime, Ryan Succop hit a 42 yard field goal to tie it at ten. Midway through the third quarter Ko Kieft caught a five yard touchdown pass to put the Buccaneers ahead. With only 32 seconds left in the game, David Nijoku delivered; on fourth down, Jacoby Brissett  threw to him in the back of the endzone to tie the game at 17. In overtime, Nick Chubb ran in for the game winning touchdown.

This was one of the greatest games of the season, and there will be more great games to come in 2022. See you next time with a new article!
