College Football Conference Championship Weekend by Grant Potoczny

December 1, 2022

On December 2nd and December 3rd, there is going to be some crazy, close, and ginormous blowouts in this year’s conference championships. So here are all of the games and my thoughts on the last games before the bowl games.

First off UTSA ( University of Texas San Antonio ) vs North Texas. This game, we have a 10-2 UTSA vs a 7-5 North Texas. A 23rd ranked UTSA vs an unranked North Texas. You might think this game would be reasonable, and if you think that then you're right. This will probably be a decent game.

Second TCU vs Kansas St. 3rd ranked TCU vs a 13th ranked Kansas St. in this game you probably think TCU would win decently, but in my opinion TCU is a fraud. I would just like to ask who is the highest ranked team they’ve beaten so far. Exactly, they haven't beaten a top 10 ranked team. I am not saying that TCU is going to lose, but it will be a good game.

Third on the list LSU vs Georgia. Wait, LSU? This team is 9-3. Okay, they’re in the SEC they had to lose to someone good, right? Wrong! They lost to Florida St. by 1, to Tennessee by 27, and for the grand finale, Texas A&M by 15! To an unchallenged Georgia ( except to Missouri ). This Georgia team has proven themselves to be an absolute powerhouse, and again it will not be very close.

Fourth to step up to the plate is Utah vs USC. This USC team is very dominant with a 11-1 record and Utah with a 9-3 record. Why is Utah here you ask well, if you look at USC’s one loss who is it to? Utah. With this win Utah is riding high, and that’s why USC is going to win. USC wants revenge, and not let Utah ruin their playoff hopes.

Fifth is Michigan vs Purdue. Michigan blew Ohio St. out of the water. Which is why Purdue is going to win! Just kidding Purdue lost to Penn St., which Ohio St. crushed, which Michigan crushed. Michigan is the only team in my opinion that can possibly beat Georgia and for that reasoning they really should pound Purdue.

Sixth game here UCF vs Tulane. Tulane is 10-2 and UCF is 9-3, but UCF's win over Tulane really makes me think that UCF is going to win. This will definitely be a good game no matter who wins. Oh, also don’t forget that both of these teams are ranked, which is really uncommon for some teams that are in the American Athletic Conference. Again, this should be a good game no matter what.

Seventh, which is last but not least Clemson vs North Carolina. North Carolina had a great season until the last two games. They lost to NC State and Georgia Tech in those games. North Carolina lost to a good Notre Dame team. Clemson on the other hand lost to Notre Dame, and in the last game of the regular season South Carolina beat Clemson (South Carolina was on a roll at the end of the regular season ). I think that makes Clemson seem like they’ll win, and I believe that.

I hope you enjoyed my summary of the conference championship games. Enjoy the great football games.
