The Super Bowl Review By Harrison Meyer and Marshall Laskowski

February 10, 2025

The 2024 NFL season is officially over. The Philadelphia Eagles are the Super Bowl champions after a 40-22 victory over the Chiefs. Jalen Hurts won MVP after an excellent performance. This game wasn’t as good of a game as many expected as the Eagles completely dominated this game and the score wasn’t what the game was like as the Chiefs scored some garbage time points at the end. The Eagles proved that they were the best in this game as many people thought the Chiefs would 3-peat.

Eagles: Jalen Hurts helped carry the Eagles to a win. The Chiefs were game-planning for Saquan and the run game showed off; however, it was the Eagle's passing game that won the game for them. Jalen Hurts went 17-22 for 221 yards and two touchdowns, he also had 72 yards on the ground and a touchdown on the TUSH PUSH. The defense for the Eagles really stepped up big with two big interceptions and a pick-six by the birthday boy, Cooper DeJean. This was a really big win for the Eagles as they were trying to stop a three-peat and get revenge for a Super Bowl loss at the hands of the Chiefs two years ago.

Chiefs: This was a complete letdown for the Chiefs as they had super high hopes for the big game. They were looking to become the first ever team to win three Super Bowls in a row. One of the main reasons they were expected to win was because they had Patrick Mahomes who has never played as bad as he did in this game. The first half was atrocious for Mahomes who threw two interceptions, one being returned for a touchdown and one deep in Chiefs territory that led to an Eagles touchdown. This led to the Chiefs being down 24-0 at the break. Then after a long halftime, they went three and out and it felt like the game was over. The Eagles scored a bit more and the game was over. The Chiefs finally scored but it was out of hand from there on and they ultimately lost 40-22. This ended their hopes for a three-peat and their season was over. Mahomes was extremely disappointing and many said he couldn’t do it without the refs which may be true since they made no calls for the Chiefs.

Halftime Show: The halftime show was solid. Kendrick played many hit songs such as “Not Like Us”. I liked the show and thought it was pretty good because most of Kendrick's songs are pretty good. I thought they kept it simple with the backgrounds and didn’t try to do too much and just focused on the songs. I think he played his best stuff and would give the show an 8/10.
